Gdańsk, Poland

In 2023 the COST meeting will be held in Gdańsk, the largest city in northern Poland, an academic and cultural centre, one of Poland’s oldest cities with a history going back a thousand years.

Meeting Venue

COST meeting 2023 will take place in Gdańsk University of Technology,

at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics, building B.

This is building no. 42 (short name: WETI B) on a Campus map (PDF).

Find the route on Google Maps.

For remote participants, a virtual meeting will be created.

Details are t.b.d.

The meeting venue is well connected by Fast Urban Railway (SKM) (PDF – train network), trams and buses with the centre of Gdańsk, where most of the hotels are located. Clicking on a bus or tram stop on a map of trams and buses will bring up a timetable. PDF – tram network PDF – bus network

The closest to the meeting venue are tram stops “Miszewskiego” and “Politechnika”. If you travel by SKM, get off at “Gdańsk Politechnika” station and take a short walk through the park to the campus area.

Gdańsk airport (IATA: GDN, ICAO: EPGD)

Gdańsk airport (web page) is conveniently located within a short distance from the city. The most convenient way of transportation is to use the train connecting the “Gdańsk Port Lotniczy” (i.e. Gdańsk airport) station to the “Gdańsk Wrzeszcz” station. Travel time is about 25 minutes. Departure timetables to/from the airport are on the airport web page, in the ‘transportation’ tab. During morning and afternoon rush hours trains may be crowded.

From the “Gdańsk Wrzeszcz” train station you can take a bus, a tram (3 minutes walk), or another SKM train to reach “Gdańsk Główny” (city centre).

Tickets for trams and buses

Tickets can be purchased at numerous kiosks throughout the city, or from ticket machines available at some stops.

Trams and buses use the same types of tickets:

  • 75 minutes or single ride (4,80 PLN)
  • 24 hours (18,00 PLN)

You must validate your ticket immediately after boarding a tram or a bus.

Tickets for the SKM railway

The fare depends on the number of kilometres travelled, however, there is a single-ride city ticket available for 5,50PLN, which is valid for a single journey within Gdańsk and Sopot.
